Aurora, Colorado lies to the east and southeast of Denver. The city covers an area of 154.31 miles and has an official elevation of 5435 feet (ranges from lowest elevation of 5285 to highest elevation of 6289).

As of 2014, the population of Aurora was just under 350,000 with the majority of the city’s population residing in Arapahoe County. Aurora also spreads across the county borders to the north into Adams County and the south into Douglas County.

Aurora is home to Buckley Air Force Base, Anschutz Medical Center and Children’s Hospital.

The city of Aurora manages more than 100 parks and over 6,000 acres of open space and natural areas. Aurora Reservoir, Quincy Reservoir and Cherry Creek State Park offer nearby places for outdoor water activities. There are also six municipal golf courses and several privately owned golf courses.
